BikeChecks

in the district of Ludwigsburg

RadCheck, what is it? At RadCheck, a mobile repair workshop stops at a central location. Here, cyclists can have their bikes checked for roadworthiness by expert mechanics free of charge. Brakes, lights, bells and tire pressure are checked. The professionals will fix any minor faults on the spot. During the check, tips are also given on bike maintenance and care: Does the chain need to be oiled? Are there enough reflectors? How is the saddle correctly adjusted? For larger repairs, the bike is referred to a workshop.

It is not necessary to book in advance.

Who organizes RadChecks?

The RadCheck is a campaign of the state initiative RadKULTUR, which aims to promote the joy and naturalness of everyday cycling in Baden-Württemberg and thus contribute to changing mobility behavior. Local authorities can book the service at a reduced rate and offer it to their citizens free of charge. The district of Ludwigsburg itself organizes RadChecks at the district administration office and at vocational schools and supports its district municipalities in organizing their own RadChecks. RadChecks are usually around 6 hours long and take place in central locations in the municipality. Companies can also book RadChecks.

Bike checks at the district office

The crowds at past RadCHECK events organized by the district office (in autumn and spring) were always good. As a rule, three bicycle technicians take care of the bikes, check lights, tires, brakes, oil chains and inflate tires. Most of the cyclists come from the district office and the surrounding companies, but there are also visitors from further afield. And many are old acquaintances who drop by every time.

Many minor defects can be rectified directly, while larger defects are referred to workshops. Incidentally, a total of 200 bikes were checked during the best-attended RadCHECK - the comments from the happy cyclists: "Great campaign" and "Thanks for the service!"

We look forward to hearing from you!
