In principle, an international driving license is useful if you are traveling to a country outside the EU. The validity of the international driving license is limited to 3 or 1 year, an extension is not possible.
Application for an international driving license
You can get your international driving license after making an online appointment at the Ludwigsburg district office or the Besigheim and Vaihingen an der Enz branch offices. As a rule, the international driving license can be issued immediately upon presentation of a card driver's license.
Please note: If you need an international driving license at short notice, you must appear in person. This is the only way to ensure that it can be issued at short notice.

- 1 biometric photograph
- EU driving license
- Valid identity card or passport
If you do not yet have a driving license, you must apply for one in advance.
It is possible to apply through an authorized representative. The following authorization form must be completed for this purpose.
