Child day care

In the district of Ludwigsburg

What is child day care?

Child day care comprises the care, support, education and upbringing of children by suitable childminders. The scope of care depends on the needs of the parents. As a rule, the child is cared for in the childminder's household, creating a family-like care situation. The hours of care depend on the parents' needs and the childminder's availability. The care can also take place in the home of the child's parents, i.e. in their familiar living environment, or in other suitable rooms.

The suitability of childminders is comprehensively checked:

  • All childminders must prove their personal suitability,
  • participation in the required qualification courses,
  • suitable premises suitable for children,
  • as well as a health certificate and a police clearance certificate.

For further information, please contact the specialist advisory service responsible for your district.

Financial support

Assumption of the costs of child day care

You can submit an application for child day care funding to the district administration office, "Financing child day care (GT 408)". The prerequisite for this is that you are resident in the district of Ludwigsburg and are unable to take care of the child yourself, for example because you are working, completing an apprenticeship or for other important reasons.

You can find all the necessary applications here.

If you have any questions regarding the application process, please contact the "Financing child day care (GT 408)" department. This area of responsibility is organized regionally, according to the location of the foster home.
