Pet owner registration
- Every beekeeping operation at your winter location must be registered with the competent veterinary office.
Health certificates
For the issue of health certificates, please contact the locally responsible bee expert(s). If the bees are to be moved abroad, the competent veterinary office at the location of the bee colonies must be contacted.
A health certificate is required in the following cases:
- When moving (migrating) bee colonies beyond the borders of your own district
- When selling bee colonies
At the new location, the health certificate must be presented to the responsible bee expert.
Signage
All bee colonies that are temporarily moved to another location (migration) must be clearly labeled with the following information:
- Name of the keeper
- address
- Number of colonies installed
Bee colonies at registered wintering sites that cannot be directly assigned to a residential building should also be marked with these contact details.
Pharmaceuticals
- As bees are food-producing animals, all medicinal product applications must be documented.
Honey, bee products (e.g. propolis, pollen, ...)
- If the honey or bee products are not only for private domestic consumption, but are sold to third parties, food law requirements such as good hygiene practices, labeling, registration, etc. must be observed.
