Integration

According to the Central Register of Foreigners, as of 30 November 2023, there were 114,321 citizens with foreign citizenship living in the district of Ludwigsburg. This results in a so-called foreigner share of 20.6% for the district of Ludwigsburg, which has increased by 3.54 percentage since 2015.

People with a migration background have always belonged to the district of Ludwigsburg. Due to the increased immigration of EU citizens and refugees in recent years, the District Office has increasingly focused on the task of social integration and the education of fellow citizens from all countries of origin.

In order to achieve a faster and more targeted integration of these fellow citizens into society, the education system and thus into the primary labour market, an office for integration was established as a staff unit in the district office. In the cooperation, meaningful and innovative projects for new immigrants are initiated and opened to the entire district. Here, migrants, whether with or without refugee experience, are considered in integration and educational opportunities.
