Regional Development Neckarschleifen e.V.
On November 3, 2020, eleven municipalities along the Neckar and the district of Ludwigsburg founded the association "Regionalentwicklung Neckarschleifen e.V.".
The municipalities of Benningen am Neckar, Besigheim, Bönnigheim, Freiberg am Neckar, Gemmrigheim, Hessigheim, Ingersheim, Kirchheim am Neckar, Lauffen am Neckar, Mundelsheim, Walheim and the district of Ludwigsburg have joined forces to pursue a common goal: to preserve the steep slopes along the middle Neckar.
The municipalities have been working since 2015 as part of regional management to create a concept with fields of action for rural areas, which was successfully adopted in 2017. In addition to the regional management, an application was submitted for funding for the regional budget. This association was founded by the eleven municipalities and the district of Ludwigsburg in order to receive the funding. Funding of € 180,000 was approved for the first time for 2021.
