Celtic path
The Celtic Trail connects nine important sites of Celtic history in the Ludwigsburg district over a distance of around 34 kilometers. Via Asperg, Möglingen, Schwieberdingen, Markgröningen, Hochdorf, Hemmingen, Schöckingen and Hirschlanden, the route leads past burial monuments and excavation sites to Ditzingen. The highlight is the Celtic Museum in Hochdorf/Enz with a reconstructed Celtic village and a detailed replica of the Celtic prince's burial chamber.

Immerse yourself in the Celtic era with the new Celtic Trail AR app
In summer 2025, an innovative digital component was added to the Celtic Trail. The "Celtic Trail AR app" allows visitors to immerse themselves even deeper into the world of the Celts at the nine sites along the Celtic Trail in an exciting way - all from the comfort of their smartphone.
The app uses virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) to bring the historical sites to life: For example, users of the app experience a market day at the Celtic princely seat on Hohenasperg or a Celtic burial ritual at the burial mound field in today's Pfaffenwäldle. With impressive imagery and interactive content, history becomes more vivid and tangible than ever before.
The digital addition builds a fascinating bridge between past and present - a real highlight for all history and outdoor fans.
