Local responsibilities
The Ludwigsburg District Office, as the local traffic authority, is responsible for the municipalities of Affalterbach, Asperg, Benningen am Neckar, Bönnigheim, Erdmannhausen, Erligheim, Freudental, Gemmrigheim, Großbottwar, Hemmingen, Hessigheim, Kirchheim am Neckar, Löchgau, Markgröningen, Möglingen, Mundelsheim, Murr, Oberstenfeld, Sachsenheim, Schwieberdingen, Steinheim an der Murr, and Walheim.
The cities of Besigheim, Gerlingen, Freiberg am Neckar, Korntal-Münchingen, Marbach am Neckar, and Pleidelsheim are local transportation authorities. This means that they are responsible for measures on municipal roads. The District Administration Office is responsible for measures affecting the classified road network (federal, state, and district roads).
The major county seats of Bietigheim-Bissingen, Ditzingen, Kornwestheim, Ludwigsburg, Remseck am Neckar, and Vaihingen an der Enz have their own road traffic authorities and are responsible for measures within their respective municipal boundaries.
The Bietigheim-Bissingen Road Traffic Authority is responsible for the municipalities of Ingersheim and Tamm.
The Vaihingen an der Enz Road Traffic Authority is responsible for the municipalities of Eberdingen, Oberriexingen, and Sersheim.
