The category B driving license can be combined with the key number 96. With a key number 96 entered in the driving license, the category B license holder is entitled to drive category B motor vehicles with a trailer with a maximum permissible mass of more than 750 kg, provided that the maximum permissible mass of the vehicle combination exceeds 3,500 kg but does not exceed 4,250 kg. The minimum age for registering the key number 96 is 18 years, or 17 years in the case of "accompanied driving from 17".
Driver training of at least seven hours is required to register the key number 96. The driver training course can be completed at a driving school.
Where and when can I apply for entry of the key number 96?
The application can be deposited in the mailbox of the
- Ludwigsburg driving license authority
- Besigheim branch office
- Vaihingen an der Enz branch office
in the mailbox. It is also possible to submit the application at the town hall of the municipality of residence (except for the city of Ludwigsburg).
A personal visit to the driving license authority is only possible after prior online appointment at the Ludwigsburg district office or the Besigheim and Vaihingen an der Enz branch offices.
