About the project
With the PflegeAuszeit model project, the district of Ludwigsburg is testing a new concept for short-term care. Short-term care at home is intended to enable relatives with care and nursing responsibilities to take planned breaks of several days from everyday care. The project, which is funded by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Social Affairs from March 2024 to February 2027, is aimed at citizens in the district and is free of charge.
Project module I - Advice and support
As part of the PflegeAuszeit model project, family carers are to be supported in the implementation and organization of time off by using an informal
substitute care network. The project team provides advice and support. Together, we look at who from the extended family
or circle of friends and acquaintances can take on caring tasks during the absence of the family member providing care and whether additional
professional caregivers, such as outpatient services, day care or care services, can be used to provide support during the time out.
The process of establishing and expanding a network takes time, which is why it is important to contact us at an early stage so that we can provide optimum support in planning the time out.
Project module II - Café Auszeit
Join us at Café Auszeit for joint meetings, encounters and mutual exchange. The focus of the offer is on networking, exchanging experiences and information, as well as mutual encouragement and support. At Café Auszeit you will meet relatives with care responsibilities from the Ludwigsburg district. Together, we would like to discuss ways in which you can create time out for yourself in your everyday care routine and keep an eye on your own health. There will also be input on various care-related topics.
Café Auszeit takes place once a month from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the common room of the senior citizens' residence at Hermannstr. 12-14 in 70806 in Kornwestheim.
Upcoming dates:
- 16.04.2026: Dealing with dementia (Ms. Hipp, dementia expert)
- 18.05.2026: Kinaesthetics (Ms. Frohs, RKH Ludwigsburg)
- 25.06.2026: Afternoon for family caregivers
Project module III - Digital and neighborhood-based meeting and exchange spaces
In addition to the district-wide Café Auszeit service, we would also like to offer a digital space for networking and exchange. To this end, we will be offering from January 2026
a digital exchange session via Microsoft Teams for one hour each. You can participate directly via the following link without registering: Click here to participate.
The digital exchange round will take place on the following dates
- 12.05. 19:30 - 20:30
- 22.06. 19:30 - 20:30
- 27.07. 19:30 - 20:30
However, the project is not only taking place in the digital space, but also directly in the neighborhood in order to network relatives with care responsibilities locally. To this end, the plan is to connect to existing services in several districts at
and to encourage and network family members with care responsibilities and offer a "sympathetic ear" for their situation.
In Markgröningen, we offer the neighborhood-based service "Exchange for relatives with care responsibilities in Markgröningen".
This takes place once a month in the Markgröningen meeting place, Turmgässle 3, on the following dates
- 20.04.2026, 17.00 hrs.
- 11.05.2026, 17.00 hrs
- 08.06.2026, 17.00 hrs
