Benefits for education and participation

Education and participation package according to the Social Security Codes II and XII or according to the Federal Child Benefit Act

Since January 1, 2011, children, adolescents and young adults have been receiving benefits for education and participation in social and cultural life in the community in addition to their monthly standard needs, housing benefit or child supplement.

The benefits of the so-called education and participation package include

  • one-day excursions from schools and day-care centers
  • School trips or camps lasting several days at day care centers
  • Equipment with personal school supplies
  • school transport
  • extracurricular learning support
  • Communal lunches at school or daycare centers
  • Participation in social and cultural life in the community

These benefits can be granted in cash or in kind (vouchers). The billing procedure should be as uncomplicated as possible, but should also guarantee individual support for the child. Different forms of benefit provision can therefore apply to the individual areas of the education and participation package. You will be informed of the form in which the specific benefit is provided when you submit your application.

For detailed information on the individual benefits of the education and participation package, please refer to the flyers on the individual areas:
