Welcome visits

For mothers and fathers with newborns in the district

With the introduction of the Federal Child Protection Act, it was important to the legislator that parents of newborns are informed about support services, including during a home visit if desired.

These welcome visits are offered in all towns and municipalities in the district and are carried out by competent welcome visitors. Parents are faced with a variety of events and challenges, especially in this completely new phase of life. These preventative talks in familiar surroundings are intended to pave the way for parents by acting as mediators and guides. In addition to a welcome gift for the child and extensive information material on local services for families and babies, the welcome visitor brings a sympathetic ear and appreciation for the new tasks. Depending on the questions asked by the "new" parents, understanding and encouragement, professional advice or very practical help with everything to do with the baby are provided in the joint discussion.

The implementation varies from municipality to municipality, as the visits are carried out by the municipalities themselves. In any case, you will receive a letter from your city/municipality in which you will receive further information on the welcome visit procedure in your place of residence.

If you have any questions, please contact the administration in your place of residence or the Coordination of Child Protection and Early Help.

Early help voucher campaign

Dear families,

With our current voucher campaign, we would like to send you the parenting guide "Baby Basics". This is made possible by the "Catching up after Corona" action program for the Federal Foundation for Early Help.

You can obtain the voucher from your local authority's welcome visitor.
