Regional dental health working group
Our aim is to improve children's oral health through preventative measures in daycare centers and schools. To this end, specially trained staff, known as prophylaxis specialists, visit the children at the facilities, advise them on healthy eating and practise brushing their teeth together.
Our dentists examine the teeth of children in the first classes of elementary school, all classes of the SBBZs and, with the support of numerous sponsor dentists, the district's daycare centers almost everywhere.

In some schools, our dentists carry out fluoridation of the teeth. Parents/guardians will be informed of this in writing. The instructions for use for elmex gelée and elmex fluid can be found in the following pdf files.

Dental health results
The group prophylactic measures must be regularly evaluated and adapted to current trends and changing conditions.
We compile annual statistics based on the results of the screenings. We then use these to determine further measures, such as more intensive care or the offer of enamel hardening.
