Late harvest market whets the appetite

Variety at the late harvest market

In 2026, the Kreishaus will once again open its doors to present exquisite goods from our partner districts from near and far abroad, Italy, France, Hungary and Israel, as well as a traditional range of products from our stand operators from the district.

Indulge in culinary delights in our outdoor area, directly in front of the main entrance to the Kreishaus. Saxon specialties, s'Esele beer, Dinnede and chocolate crêpes and Swabian delicacies such as Kuttla or sour Nierla from the Koppe Genussmanufaktur directly for consumption.

In the atrium, there will be fresh herbs from the Umbach nursery for delicious stews with winter vegetables, as well as oils and teas and a special highlight: products made from hemp.NABU has a new stand in the atrium with lots of information about the biodiversity of our animals, as well as projects and games for children. Theorganic sample region brings along the Forsthof winery and the Munz organic butcher's shop . For really cold days, try the hot chocolate with a hint of chili or the hearty vegetarian chili sin carne at Chilimanufaktur on level 9. Artisan Göhringer also offers handmade wooden items on level 9 in the Kreishaus. On level 7, cold-pressed oil specialties, apple juice from their own apples, linseed, mustard seed and bird seed, quinoa, chia, chickpeas, flour, grape juice, all from regional cultivation await at Merkles Hof. The Kreisdiakonieverband also enriches the market on level 5 with hand-sewn accessories, items for domestic use and clothing from the NAOMIsewing workshop, a sewing workshop for refugee women and the sewing workshop of the Marinushelferprojekt. Refreshingly beautiful gift items and home accessories can be found on level 4 at Kunsthandwerk Christ. And of course much more!

Wine at the late harvest market in the wine and gourmet street

The district has something to offer

Brand new this year, the wine route is being expanded to include a number of culinary specialties and will become a wine and gourmet route for you.

The district's unofficial landmark is its beautiful steep slopes with magnificent views of the hilly green countryside. After all, the district can be proud of its more than 2,100 hectares of vineyards, which make up around 19 percent of the entire Swabian region. Almost 200 winegrowing businesses and 11 winegrowers' cooperatives in the district of Ludwigsburg produce wines - often on steep slopes using centuries-old special techniques - whose quality is repeatedly awarded prizes.

Some good wines can be tasted at the Spätlingsmarkt. The finest wines are waiting to be tasted in our wine and gourmet street, where the district councillors usually decide the fate of the district. Here you can make contact with the winegrowers personally or with experienced employees and choose the right wine. Happy are those who have a dry Lemberger or Merlot on the table with their roast onions or a sparkling Chardonnay with their smoked brown trout?

Wine and sparkling wine specialties are available from Domäne Monrepos - Weingut Herzog von Württemberg, from the young winegrower WeinGut Schütz from Höpfigheim, whose Bastia Negra is a must-try, and from Felsengartenkellerei, with its wonderful steep slope wines.

You can start your culinary journey through the Genussstraße at the Hirsch Besigheim restaurant stand directly in front of the main entrance. The finest Swabian specialties such as tripe or sour kidneys await you there for direct consumption or to take home in a glass.

Our new stand operators from Bergamo in the wine and gourmet street on level 4 directly in front of the conference rooms:

Francesco, Marta and Pedro bring delicious Italian mountain cheese

  • Branzi fresco FTB
  • Branzi stagionato FTB
  • Formai de Mut DOP Alpeggio 2025
  • Taleggio DOP
  • Strachitunt DOP
  • Agri di Valtorta (Presidio Slow Food)

Of course, there will also be salami specialties and ham again

There will also be freshly prepared polenta taragna orobica and panna cotta, crème caramel and budino for dessert.

New stand operators in the wine and gourmet street from Swabia: Uli and Corinna Maute will spoil you with truffle spaghetti from the Parmesan cheese loaf. Truffles are not enough: chocolate truffles can also be eaten here and taken away.

Climate-friendly local transportation

Bicycle stands during the Spätlingsmarkt - also in 2026

In cooperation with the Association of Bicycle and Pedestrian-Friendly Communities (AGFK), the district is providing 120 additional bicycle parking spaces in Eugenstraße for visitors to the Spätlingsmarkt who come by bike.

So it's best to come by bike, as this not only saves greenhouse gases, but also improves the parking situation for cars.

The bicycle parking spaces are very well received.

3 climate-friendly rickshaws - still in the planning stage, but we hope that the rickshaws will also be running in 2026

Our tried-and-tested shuttle service will again be happy to transport you from Ludwigsburg station to the district administration office at the Spätlingsmarkt or vice versa. Transportation is free of charge and is also great fun for children. The bus stop is located at the ZOB, directly opposite Ludwigsburg railroad station and at the District Office in Eugenstraße.

Celtic tasting (beer tasting)

We hope that Clement and Mitsche will offer us another Celtic Tasting: News coming soon!

Join us on this unique, top-class beer tasting with a journey through the four Celtic nations of Brittany, Cornwall, Ireland and Scotland and their original brewing skills and, of course, to the Asperg Celtic seat and its Esele beer.

The tasting will be organized by the qualified brewing engineer and beer sommelier Clemens Thüsing and the passionate brewer Michael Dahm, the owners of s'Esele Bier Asperg.

The program is rounded off with Swabian whisky from the Fesslermill in Sersheim.

Another special feature of this tasting is the live music by

DIE NACHBARN - acoustic jam from Ludwigsburg

Bluegrass songs, old-time fiddle tunes and songs from the hillbilly and country tradition: the neighbors play handmade, acoustic music from the USA. Virtuoso with fiddle, banjo, dobro, mandolin, double bass - and lots of speed and wit. www. dienachbarn.net

The quartet from Ludwigsburg interprets songs by Hank Williams, Dillards, Old Crow Medicine Show and the bluegrass songbook, among others. In addition to songs sung by several voices, the program also includes instrumental numbers that are around 100 years old, just like the Celtic brewing recipes.

Rustic coziness, dim light, listening to stories, enjoying time, smiling faces, foaming beer and delicious snacks from HUOBER. This is pure Irish pub feeling in the middle of the Ludwigburg District Office, in the new building, Hindenburgstraße 30, in the atrium.

After the rehearsal, there will be an opportunity to round off the evening with beer and live music with the band.

Sausage quality test of the Böblingen-Ludwigsburg butchers' guild

Thursday, 5.11.2026, 4 p.m. in the Great Hall in the Kreishaus

65 owner-managed butcher's stores and their branches are part of the merged Böblingen-Ludwigsburg butchers' guild. They guarantee a comprehensive and high-quality supply of fresh meat and sausage products in both districts.

The quality of the wide range of products starts with the regional farmers. Species-appropriate husbandry and feeding of the animals as well as short transportation routes are important to us. In this way, taste, meat quality and freshness can be determined. The merger of the independent butchers' guilds of Böblingen and Ludwigsburg has strengthened our position on the market. With 65 owner-managed businesses and their local branches, our butchers bear economic, social and ecological responsibility and shape the market.

The Ludwigsburg district's sausage quality inspection will take place on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 4 p.m. in the large meeting room in the district hall.

Let our experienced master butchers inform you about the product range, quality and production.

Young winemaker afterwork PAAAAAARTY with DJ Rainer from Sonnenhof

Thursday, 5.11.2026, from 5 p.m. in the atrium

Since the party is such a success, we'll be letting it rip again this year. Let the young winegrowers spoil you with a good drop. Campagne and wonderful wines are waiting for you. DJ Rainer from Sonnenhof will make dancers' hearts beat faster. It's party time at the Landratsamt.

Wine tasting

Something very special - wine tasting at the Spätlingsmarkt - in the pipeline again for 2026

Last year, Die Weinbande pitted the wines of the EXNIKRUM and Franck Bento wineries against French and Italian wines.

Between the duels, Sebastian Fischer kept us laughing and amazed with his magical entertainment.

The food on offer: there were French specialties salami, olives and bread, olive oil and olive paste and typical nougat from our French stand operators from Provence.

With fruit from regional orchards: Fruit brandy award

It's that time again. The fruit brandy award ceremony as part of the Spätlingsmarkt is taking place again. We cordially invite you to submit your brandies made from fruit from orchards, Williams pear brandy, marc brandy, spirits as well as gin or whisky free of charge by October 23, 2026.

The prerequisite for participation is that the fruit comes from regional orchards in the Ludwigsburg district. This is your contribution to the preservation of the orchards. In addition, the brandies must also be distilled in the district of Ludwigsburg.

As a private individual, you are also welcome to submit your rarities, specialties and distillates - the treasures of the district.

The Klein- und Obstbrennerverband Nord-Württemberg e.V. will carry out the test at the end of October in the district administration office.

COUNTY CIDER 2026

The Landscape Conservation Association and the Department of Agriculture are delighted to be able to offer a 2026 district cider made from apples harvested from orchards. Fruchtsaft Schütz GmbH has once again supported us with its great experience and produced the CIDRE for us. You can taste it at the Spätlingsmarkt 2026

The Schütz company and some retailers in the area are already offering the cider for sale.
