Private households are only dwellings used for private purposes, i.e. not clubhouses or public facilities, for example.
Important!
If possible, please state your booking reference (5.015..., see fee notice) and the 7-digit container number as well as a telephone number where you can be reached during the day in all correspondence!
The basis for the waste fee assessment is the respective valid waste management statutes of the Ludwigsburg district.
The waste fee is made up of a fee based on the number of people registered in the household (personal annual fee) and a fee based on the number of times the bin is emptied (emptying fee).
The waste garbage cans for residual waste and organic waste are fitted with a chip that registers all empties.
Small quantities of organic waste can no longer be disposed of with the residual waste. Every household is therefore obliged to use an organic waste garbage can (own garbage can or shared garbage can).
The annual fees and advance payments for emptying are charged with the waste fee notice.
Billing takes place with the next notification of charges.

The district of Ludwigsburg offers direct billing of the emptying fees as part of a container pool (special program) for the waste fee assessment of several households. The legal basis for this is § 11 of the Municipal Tax Act (KAG) in conjunction with §§ 1, 2 Para. 1a and § 3 Para. 3 of the fee statutes of the Ludwigsburg district.
The billing fee is regulated in § 22 Para. 10 of the waste management statutes. The settlement fee is made up as follows.
The basis for the personal data is the data recorded in the respective residents' registration offices.
The calculation of the annual fee is based on the number of all persons registered in a household in the district with a main or secondary residence.
An advance payment for the emptying fee is calculated in the waste fee notice. The calculation basis for the advance payment is the emptying volume of the previous year.
If a container has never been emptied in a calendar year, one emptying will be charged as an advance payment for the following year.
The following advance payments are charged when a container is registered for the first time:
| For 120 l and 240 l residual waste containers | 12 emptyings |
| For 660 l and 1,100 l residual waste containers - weekly emptying rhythm - 14-day emptying rhythm | 26 empties 52 empties |
| 60 l, 120 l, 240 l organic waste bin | 10 empties |
The SEPA direct debit mandate was introduced to simplify and streamline the processing of payments.
If you would like to take advantage of this direct debit procedure (no reminders, no late payment surcharge), you can issue a SEPA direct debit mandate here.
Please note that a separate SEPA direct debit mandate must be issued for each booking reference.

Please note the following:
When moving into a new single-family home, a container order is required. This can also be done via the customer portal "My waste, my request" customer portal
If you already have waste garbage cans on site that you would like to take over, please let us know in writing or by fax the 7-digit chip number that is affixed to the side of each organic and residual waste garbage can.
This will enable us to quickly book the appropriate bins to your booking reference.
Small quantities of organic waste cannot be disposed of with the residual waste. Every household is therefore obliged to use an organic waste garbage can (own garbage can or shared garbage can).
Please inform the District Administration Office - Waste Fees Department - in writing of any changes to your waste container equipment or manage your container stock here at
If you move and your bins are taken over by your new tenant, we need the following information:
Regulations for moving house and away - container deregistration
If you no longer need your residual waste and organic waste garbage cans for the provision of waste, e.g. due to moving away, you must inform the district administration office, waste fees department, in writing within 2 weeks and deregister your containers (container number).
If this is not done, the waste containers will be automatically removed on behalf of the district. However, you must then note that your obligation to pay fees in this case only ends at the end of the calendar month in which the container is collected or taken over by a successor. If your bins are still being emptied after the move, you will be invoiced for the emptying costs.
Defective containers will be replaced free of charge if the defect is due to age-related damage. All you need to do is call the waste charges department or send an e-mail.
All important information on waste disposal and recycling can be found in the waste calendar.
This is distributed annually to all households or is available at the mayors' offices. In addition to the waste collection dates, it also contains the opening times of the recycling centers.
You can also call up your collection dates online at Abfallverwertungsgesellschaft (AVL Ludwigsburg)
The personal annual fee is based on the resident registration data.
If your family is not registered as one family, a separate assessment will be made.
In these cases, you can apply to the district administration office to merge your household. The corresponding form "Declaration of household consolidation" is enclosed with the waste fee notice. You can also download this form here.
The annual assessment is based on the resident registration data. This data is retrieved approx. 3 weeks before the fee notices are sent out.
If there is a change in the number of people after this time, this can only be taken into account in an amendment notice.
It is only necessary to notify the district administration office if the change in the number of persons has no effect on the registration data (e.g. student is still registered in the district but is studying abroad for a year).
Otherwise you will automatically receive a notification of change.
The registration law distinguishes between main and secondary residences: the main residence is the resident's predominantly used home, the secondary residence is any other home within the scope of the registration law.
The registration law assumes that people who have a secondary residence actually use it.
The use of a property results in the assessment of waste fees. If you do not actually use the property, you must deregister. Of course, you will then no longer have to pay waste disposal charges.
You can obtain further information from your residents' registration office.
