Every citizen and every business is obliged to dispose of their waste properly. As the state's lower waste legislation authority, the Environment Department monitors the various waste streams, in particular the disposal and transportation of this waste. Its tasks also include the proper disposal of unauthorized waste disposal and the resulting initiation of fine proceedings.
The tasks of avoiding, recycling and disposing of waste are carried out by Abfallverwertungsgesellschaft des Landkreises Ludwigsburg mbH (AVL), a wholly owned subsidiary of the district. The waste fees incurred for this are collected by the Ludwigsburg District Office.
Demolition of buildings
The demolition of buildings generates a variety of hazardous and non-hazardous waste. Hazardous waste in particular, such as asbestos or artificial mineral fibers, must be disposed of without causing any damage. Those responsible are obliged to keep this waste separate and to dispose of it in accordance with legal regulations. The Baden-Württemberg State Institute for the Environment has provided a guide for demolition work. You can find it here
End-of-life vehicles
Old motor vehicles that are to be disposed of may only be handed over to a recognized collection point or a certified dismantling company.
Transportation and collection of waste
Transportation of waste
The commercial transportation of non-hazardous waste is generally subject to notification.
The transportation of hazardous waste is generally only permitted with an appropriate transport permit or certification (see forms).
Collection of waste (scrap metal, electrical scrap)
The collection of scrap metal/electrical waste by commercial collectors, as is often advertised with flyers or leaflets, is not permitted in the Ludwigsburg district.
Collection of waste (e.g. waste paper, old clothes)
The commercial collection of waste from private households is subject to notification (see forms).
