Integration assistance services aim to enable people with disabilities to participate in society on their own terms. Needs are assessed on an individual basis. Support may take the form of assistance with daily living, supported housing, or employment in businesses or workshops for people with disabilities. Children with disabilities can, for example, receive integration assistance to enable their participation in daycare or school. A prerequisite is that the person’s participation is significantly limited due to a physical, cognitive, or mental impairment.

Blind people receive state assistance for the blind to compensate for the additional expenses and disadvantages caused by their blindness.
Do you have questions? EMiL, the district’s social services department, provides advice on issues related to integration assistance and rehabilitation. If you are eligible for integration assistance, EMiL will help arrange appropriate support and determine what kind of assistance is needed and to what extent. Consultations can take place at the district office, at your home, or at an agreed-upon location.
