War victims' welfare
War victims' welfare benefits are part of the social compensation law under the Federal Pension Act ( BVG ). Their task is to provide appropriate compensation for damages and adequate economic provision for those entitled to benefits.
War victims' welfare benefits include supplementary assistance with living expenses, assistance with care (e.g. respite care and inpatient care) and assistance for the elderly.
Those entitled to war victims' welfare are mainly war victims and war survivors.
In addition, victims under the Military or Civilian Service Act, vaccination victims, victims of violence or politically persecuted persons from the former GDR or the former German eastern territories can also receive this assistance.
Further information on this, also with regard to special responsibilities, can be obtained from the person responsible for you and from the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
