In Baden-Württemberg, wildlife officers are the central contact persons for all matters relating to wildlife at district level. The Hunting and Wildlife Management Act (JWMG) has given them a legal designation. As a result of the amendment to the JWMG in 2020, a wildlife officer must now be employed by the lower hunting authorities to advise on wildlife issues, both private and official.
