Anyone who needs regular or increasing support in everyday life can apply for long-term care insurance benefits. The application is submitted to the long-term care insurance fund, which is affiliated with the health insurance fund. The application can be made informally in oral or written form.
Once the application has been submitted, the applicant will be sent documents to complete and an appointment will be sent by post to determine the degree of care. The Medical Service will carry out the assessment. You will receive the assessment report with the decision from your long-term care insurance fund. The application forms can be downloaded online from many long-term care insurance funds. You can appeal against the decision of the long-term care insurance fund.
