Parking concessions

for special groups of severely disabled people

The following groups of people can receive an orange parking permit:

  • Severely disabled people with the GandBand a GdB of at least 70 solely for functional disorders of the lower limbs (and the lumbar spine, insofar as these affect the ability to walk) and at the same time a GdB of at least 50 for functional disorders of the heart or respiratory organs, (paragraph 134)
  • Severely disabled people who suffer from Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis if they have a degree of disability of at least 60 ( paragraph 135)
  • Severely disabled people with an artificial anusand artificial urinary diversion, if they have a degree of disability of at least 70(paragraph 136).
  • An exemption may also be granted to those severely disabled persons who, according to a medical assessment, are equivalent to the group of persons referred to in paragraphs 134 to 136.

Important: With the parking facilitation, it is not permitted to park in parking spaces reserved for people with exceptional walking disabilities and blind people and marked with a wheelchair symbol. In addition, parking is not permitted where there is a legal or signposted ban on stopping.

The parking concession allows parking in restricted parking bans and in public parking spaces for residents designated by traffic signs for up to three hours.

Parking is permitted in pedestrian zones during loading times (times during which the pedestrian zone may be used for loading and unloading), at parking meters and parking ticket machines without charge and time limit and in traffic-calmed areas outside the designated parking spaces, provided that traffic is not obstructed as a result.

In general, parking concessions may only be used if there is no other parking option within a reasonable distance. The maximum permitted parking time is 24 hours in all cases.

If you live in the area of responsibility of the Ludwigsburg District Office (see page Parking facilities for the disabled), the application must be submitted to the Traffic Department of the Ludwigsburg District Office, otherwise to the local town hall.

After receiving the application, the Traffic Department will obtain an opinion from the Utilities Department. In the case of new assessment procedures in accordance with the Severely Disabled Persons Act, the Utilities Department can also issue a certificate directly, which must then be submitted together with the application.

The parking permit is usually issued for five years. No fees are charged by the Ludwigsburg District Office for issuing the permit.

If you have any further questions, please contact the Traffic Department at Ludwigsburg District Office.
