Asylum and refugee work

The primary objective is to provide appropriate accommodation for asylum seekers assigned by the state in accordance with their protection needs.

As the lower reception authority, the Ludwigsburg district is responsible for the temporary accommodation of asylum seekers.

Temporary accommodation by the municipal and rural districts is the second stage of refugee accommodation after initial reception by the state of Baden-Württemberg. In the interests of decentralized and integration-friendly distribution, accommodation is provided in almost all towns and municipalities in the district.

Accommodation is regularly provided in shared accommodation in which asylum seekers are housed for the duration of their asylum procedure, but for a maximum of 24 months.

The employees in the Asylum Accommodation division look after and manage the district's shared accommodation, plan new accommodation and manage all business processes. The janitor team looks after the accommodation on site. In addition, refugees are distributed to the district municipalities from here by way of follow-up accommodation.

The district of Ludwigsburg is currently not looking for any further accommodation, as there is sufficient capacity available for the foreseeable future.

In many cases, properties are still being sought for follow-up accommodation by the towns and municipalities. If you would like to offer accommodation for refugees, please contact the relevant town or municipal administration.
