The VVS-Rider is a joint project between the district of Ludwigsburg and the municipalities of Kirchheim/Neckar, Gemmrigheim and Walheim as well as the towns of Besigheim, Bietigheim-Bissingen and Tamm.
Without a fixed timetable, the VVS Rider takes passengers to their destination on demand. As an innovative on-demand service, the VVS-Rider complements the existing traditional public transport system in the VVS. The VVS-Rider makes it possible to travel comfortably and safely from A to B without a fixed timetable and without having to walk long distances to the stop.
The VVS-Rider can be booked via app or telephone. A one-off registration is required for booking. The VVS Rider app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or App Store. A ride can also be booked by telephone on 0711 9952 1077.
The app offers options for both spontaneous passengers and those planning ahead. A journey can be booked up to seven days in advance.
Operating hours
The VVS-Rider can be used in the Kirchheim/Neckar, Gemmrigheim, Besigheim and Walheim area at the following times:
- Mondays to Fridays: 6:00 - 19:00
- Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays: 8:00 - 17:00
In the Bietigheim-Bissingen and Tamm area, the VVS-Rider can be used at the following times:
- Night to Saturday, Sunday and before public holidays: 10:00 p.m. - 5:00 a.m.
Virtual stops
In addition to the existing bus stops, virtual stops are digitally stored in the app for the VVS Rider. Unlike the bus stops, they are not marked, but are located at easy-to-find places, such as intersections. They are displayed in the app and the location and pick-up time are described in detail when booking by phone.
Vehicle
The VVS-Rider vehicle is barrier-free so that people with limited mobility can also be transported safely and comfortably. There is also space for baby carriages in the vehicle. Passengers must bring their own child seats or infant carriers.
It is not possible to take dogs as they cannot be secured in the vehicle. Small dogs in suitable containers can be taken along.
Travel information
The VVS Rider app shows the best way to get from your starting point to your destination. The intelligent journey planner includes all public transport services. This means that the ideal travel option can be offered regardless of the means of transport.
Fare
The VVS-Rider can be used with all VVS tickets - including the city ticket and the Deutschlandticket - that are valid in the service area. The VVS ticket can also be purchased cashless in the vehicle.
