On October 1, the district of Ludwigsburg kicked off the development of a future strategy for the business location with a kick-off event. Around 60 participants, including representatives from the district's municipalities, chambers and associations, educational and employment institutions, as well as the district administration, took part in order to jointly set the course for the district's economic future. The event was opened by District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier.
The future strategy is intended to lay the foundations for the sustainable and future-oriented development of our district. Under the technical leadership of VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik GmbH, such a strategy for the district of Ludwigsburg is to be developed in a participatory process involving all relevant stakeholders. The strategy aims to develop a vision for the future and work out concrete measures to strengthen the location in order to make it successful in the long term. In the following months, analyses, surveys and workshops will be carried out to determine the needs of the local economy. In a strategy workshop, topics are defined and local approaches, measures and projects are developed.
Strategy expert Dr. Gerd Meier zu Köcker, District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier and District Economic Development Manager Oliver Reichert explained the objectives, further planning and opportunities for participation to the guests at the kick-off event. The participants were also given an insight into existing experiences with the development and implementation of a future strategy by Nadine Kaiser, Managing Director of Wirtschaftsförderung Ostwürttemberg. Similar to the Ludwigsburg district, the East Wuerttemberg region is also working on the transformation of its economy and developing strategies and measures.
From 2025, the Ludwigsburg District Energy Agency (LEA) will be advising companies of all sectors and sizes on how to increase their energy efficiency. Each year, 15 companies can take advantage of the offer.
As part of the consultation, an on-site inspection (approx. 2 hours) is carried out with an expert. Weak points are analyzed - with a focus depending on requirements (e.g. building envelope, heat generation, production, lighting). The LEA then prepares a report on the results, which you will receive within 2 weeks.
Participating companies identify potential energy savings and receive information on short and long-term steps as well as available subsidies. The district of Ludwigsburg bears the full costs of the consultation.
The contact person for interested parties is Ms. Mittelbach from the LEA, who can be reached by e-mail at maren.mittelbach[at]lea-lb.de.
The new direct marketer brochure for the Ludwigsburg district was presented by District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier at the beginning of October. The brochure entitled "Schmeck den Landkreis! Shop and enjoy directly from the farm" provides a comprehensive overview of the diverse regional offerings of direct marketing businesses in the district, supplemented by consumer and nutrition tips.
Detailed information on what the businesses offer and a modern layout ensure real added value for both farmers and consumers. The brochure is now available free of charge from the Mittlerer Neckar Nutrition Center and will also be available in a few weeks at town halls, direct marketing businesses and various markets in the district.
The online presence now includes an interactive online map that provides consumers with information about the direct marketing businesses on the go. Further information on the brochure and the online map can be found on our district office website at this link.
Wirtschaftsförderung Region Stuttgart GmbH (WRS) is organizing an impulse programme for corporate mobility management, which includes mobility analyses and consultations at the company location as well as a series of joint workshops. The aim is to develop and initially implement a mobility concept to make commuting, business trips and the vehicle fleet as efficient and climate-neutral as possible. The program is aimed at companies as well as municipal and district administrations that want to be pioneers in implementing sustainable corporate mobility.
By implementing sustainable company mobility management (BMM), companies increase their attractiveness as an employer, promote the satisfaction and health of their employees and reduce costs, for example for business trips and parking spaces. In addition, corporate mobility management is one of the most effective instruments in climate protection, particularly with regard to sustainability reporting.
The next round of the program is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2025. Companies, authorities and institutions can now register for this program round. Further information on corporate mobility management and the regional BMM impulse program can be found at: https://nachhaltige-mobilitaet.region-stuttgart.de/bmm-impulsprogramm/ziele-und-ansatz/

The Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Transport is currently initiating a new funding program to expand the charging infrastructure for electric trucks, which is specifically aimed at the transport industry. With a budget of 7.5 million euros for 2024, the "TruckCharge@BW" program will start in November. The expansion of the charging infrastructure for battery-electric trucks is a key element in ensuring the competitiveness of the industry.
Funding is provided for the procurement and installation of both public and non-public charging points on company premises, in charging hubs and at transshipment points. This also includes the necessary grid connections. The prerequisite for funding is that the charging current comes from renewable energies. If the application is approved, the costs for setting up the charging infrastructure will be subsidized by the Ministry on a pro rata basis, with a subsidy rate of 40% for small and medium-sized companies and 20% for large companies. Applications are submitted and approved via the L-Bank Baden-Württemberg. Further information and funding regulations can be found on the website of the Ministry of Transport at https://vm.baden-wuerttemberg.de/de/politik-zukunft/elektromobilitaet
