KLIMAfit offers companies an introduction to the topic of climate protection and energy saving. Joint workshops are held to draw up a greenhouse gas balance sheet and derive measures to reduce emissions. In addition to reducing negative climate impacts and operating costs, the program lays the foundations for company-wide climate management. The companies receive support from expert environmental and energy consultants. The project runs for approx. 9 months and ends with the "KLIMAfit Betrieb" award. Further information and conditions can be found at www.landkreis-ludwigsburg.de/de/umwelt-technik-klimaschutz/klimaschutz/projekte-mit-und-fuer-unternehmen/.
The district of Ludwigsburg, as the project sponsor, will start a new KLIMAfit project round with companies from the district on July 21, 2023. If you are also interested in participating, please contact business promoter Oliver Reichert at oliver.reichert[at]landkreis-ludwigsburg.de or Inge Günsel from the climate protection team at Inge.Guensel[at]landkreis-ludwigsburg.de
Hydrogen is set to play a central role in achieving Germany's climate protection targets in the coming years. In the hydrogen roadmap of the state of Baden-Württemberg, the transport sector is named as a pioneer for a general market ramp-up for hydrogen and fuel cells.
In order to be able to plan the procedure for a future hydrogen infrastructure in the district of Ludwigsburg, a survey is to be carried out to determine the approximate hydrogen requirements for commercial vehicles in the district. The survey is primarily aimed at companies whose main business is in freight, goods or passenger transportation or which maintain a large fleet of transport vehicles or heavy commercial vehicles.
The data collected in the course of the survey will only be evaluated at the district office and used exclusively for internal, strategic planning. Participation in the survey takes around five to ten minutes and is open until 14.07.2023.

As a result of climate change, extreme weather events are increasing measurably in Germany, including heavy rainfall, i.e. small-scale rain events of short duration and high intensity. Heavy rain can cause serious flooding, even away from rivers and streams. Forecasting heavy rainfall events is very difficult, making local advance warning almost impossible.
Municipal heavy rain risk management offers a uniform procedure for analyzing hazards and risks from heavy rain at a municipal level. Heavy rain hazard maps show, among other things, the flow paths and flooded areas during heavy rainfall. The risk management concepts include recommendations for action to reduce the risks to municipal buildings and infrastructure.
However, the maps also provide a good basis for private and commercial buildings to assess their vulnerability to heavy rainfall events. Companies can view the heavy rain hazard maps for their respective locations at their local authorities or enquire about the status of the hazard maps. 27 municipalities in the Ludwigsburg district have already drawn up a heavy rain risk management concept or have started to do so. You can see which ones by clicking on the district map opposite.
Due to the significant increase in the number of refugees since spring 2022, the district of Ludwigsburg is working hard to expand capacity for the temporary accommodation of refugees and is looking for residential and commercial properties for this purpose. Land for possible development is also of interest. Last year, the district agreed with the 39 district municipalities that low-threshold rental offers such as apartments and accommodation up to a size of around 20 to 25 accommodation places would be processed by the respective local municipality and that the district would examine the suitability of properties with more accommodation places.
Corresponding rental or purchase offers can be sent to Asylbewerber[at]Landkreis-Ludwigsburg.de. The Asylum Accommodation Department of the District Office will then contact you immediately. Ms. Prügner (07141/ 144-43029) or Mr. Rockstroh (07141/ 144-42665) will answer any questions you may have.
Motivate your employees to switch to a bike on their way to work and take part in CITY CYCLING from July 1 to 21, 2023. Those who regularly cycle to work protect the climate, live healthier, are more creative and feel better.
How does participation work? A team captain registers a company team and invites employees to register for their team in the competition. Sub-teams (departments, specialist areas, etc.) are also possible. Everyone then pedals hard for three weeks (and hopefully beyond). The campaign is rounded off with an internal award ceremony, for example. Or an external one, if your team makes it onto our podium of the biggest teams ...

Until the end of 2023, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy is supporting SMEs in their digitalization projects with the "Digital Jetzt - Investitionsförderung für KMU" funding programme. Companies with fewer than 500 employees can apply for a financial grant of 30-40% of their eligible costs for their planned investments in digitalization. The maximum funding amount is 50,000 euros per company.
Grants are available for investments in software and hardware, in particular for the internal and external networking of the company, as well as for employee training on digital topics. The investments and digitization projects must go beyond the usual scope of basic IT equipment.
Information on the funding conditions and how to apply can be found at www.bmwk.de/Redaktion/DE/Dossier/digital-jetzt.html
The laws on participation in the labor market (§16 i) and integration of the unemployed (§16e) open up opportunities for participation and employment prospects for the long-term unemployed. Following a pilot phase, both programs were made permanent this year and provide long-term funding. The programs enable the integration of the long-term unemployed into suitable employment and, in the medium to long term, the transition to unsubsidized employment.
In order to make it easier for people to return to work after a long period of unemployment and to ease the burden on your company, such employment relationships are supported for a longer period of time. The support includes a wage subsidy, coaching and, in the case of §16i, the assumption of appropriate qualification costs.

The Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport supports climate-friendly measures in companies with its funding program for company mobility management. Only small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs, max. 250 employees or EUR 50 million turnover) are eligible for funding.
Approved projects are funded proportionately with up to 60% of the eligible costs, up to a maximum funding amount of EUR 60,000. Project outlines and applications can be submitted to the Federal Office for Logistics and Mobility (BALM) until March 2024. Further information on the funding modalities and requirements, as well as the application process, can be found at www.mobil-gewinnt.de/Foerderprogramm/Breitenfoerderung
