In 2024, the district of Ludwigsburg is launching a new KLIMAfit project round, which is aimed specifically at companies in production and logistics in the district. KLIMAfit offers companies an introduction to the topic of climate protection and energy saving. In joint workshops, participants learn how to draw up a greenhouse gas balance sheet and derive measures to reduce emissions. In addition to reducing negative climate impacts and operating costs, the program lays the foundations for company-wide climate management. The companies receive support from expert environmental and energy consultants.
The project runs for approx. 9 months and ends with the "KLIMAfit Betrieb" award. Further information on the previous Klimafit project rounds can be found at www.landkreis-ludwigsburg.de/de/umwelt-technik-klimaschutz/klimaschutz/projekte-mit-und-fuer-unternehmen/.
An online information event will take place on Tuesday, 02.07.2024 at 14:00. If you are also interested in participating, please register at wifoe[at]landkreis-ludwigsburg.de
Motivate your employees to switch to a bike on their way to work and take part in CITY CYCLING from July 1 to 21, 2024. Those who regularly cycle to work protect the climate, live healthier, are more creative and feel better.
How does participation work? A team captain registers a company team and invites employees to register for their team in the competition. Sub-teams (departments, specialist areas, etc.) are also possible. Everyone then pedals hard for three weeks (and hopefully beyond). The campaign is rounded off with an internal award ceremony, for example. Or an external one, if your team makes it onto our podium of the biggest teams ...

The district of Ludwigsburg was the first district in Baden-Württemberg to draw up a heat action plan (HAP). It contains measures such as an alert chain, a cool map and a special website that informs and educates citizens, local authorities and institutions. It also contains eleven exemplary action plans that were developed in cooperation with doctors' surgeries, daycare centers, care facilities and other institutions. The plans explain how particularly heat-sensitive groups can be specifically protected in the respective facilities. The Ludwigsburg district's heat action plan is available for download at the following link: https://www.landkreis-ludwigsburg.de/de/gesundheit-veterinaerwesen/gesundheit/hitzeschutz/
Heat can also have a major impact on performance and health in everyday working life. Employers therefore play an important role in heat protection. Heat protection is already enshrined in law in the Occupational Health and Safety Act (ArbSchG) and in particular in the Workplace Ordinance (ArbStättV). The German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) has already drawn up a number of recommendations on heat protection measures. These include general measures such as raising employee awareness, adjusting working and break times and providing drinks. Suitable measures to reduce heat indoors include airing rooms early in the morning, installing sun protection devices and installing ventilation or air conditioning systems. For outdoor work, shaded shelters, air-conditioned vehicles or construction machinery and the provision of UV protection can be effective measures.
It is generally recommended that companies develop a suitable heat concept that contains measures tailored to their needs. The Ludwigsburg district health department can answer questions about creating a heat concept, heat protection and heat adaptation, especially for interested companies in the health and social sectors.
