Future strategy adopted

With the "Future strategy for the Ludwigsburg district as a business location", the district council has unanimously adopted a roadmap for the Ludwigsburg district to lead the regional economy sustainably into the future. 20 specific projects in five fields of action are to be implemented over the next five years as part of the future strategy.

The strategic development of the district is based on five central fields of action. The focus is on securing education and skilled workers for the working world of tomorrow through the promotion of young talent, further training and the targeted recruitment of skilled workers. Equally important is the expansion of knowledge transfer, networking and start-up support in order to accelerate innovation and strengthen competitiveness.

A clear identity of the business location and targeted communication measures make the economic strength of the region visible. Administration and business development should act as modern, digital and service-oriented partners for the economy. Finally, infrastructure and space are seen as success factors, with inter-municipal cooperation and sustainable land management combining growth and sustainability.

The development of the future strategy was a participatory and multi-stage process. Under the expert guidance of the consulting firm VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik GmbH, representatives from administration, business, institutions and educational establishments discussed key challenges and developed project ideas. Between October 2024 and July 2025, more than 300 participants across the district were involved in workshops, surveys and specialist workshops. Two accompanying committees - the sounding board with executives from large companies such as Bosch, Dürr, Porsche and Mann+Hummel and the steering committee of the district's economic development agency - ensured close coordination between strategy, practice and feasibility.

Further information on the future strategy can be found on the Kreis-Wirtschaftsförderung website at the following link https://www.landkreis-ludwigsburg.de/landratsamt-landkreis/wirtschaftsfoerderung/zukunftsstrategie/.

Electrification of vehicle fleets: support for companies

Many companies are increasingly turning to the electrification of their vehicle fleets in order to reduce CO2 emissions, benefit financially and secure their competitiveness.

The Baden-Württemberg State Energy Agency (KEA-BW) supports this process with its fleet platform, which provides a market overview of battery-powered and plug-in hybrid vehicles as well as a cost calculator for charging infrastructure.

A special service offered by KEA-BW is the fleet analysis tool, which determines the electrification and savings potential of vehicle fleets after free registration. After entering the relevant data, the tool provides, among other things, a scenario-based overview of results, an ecological analysis and information on electricity consumption and load profile.

Detailed information can be found at https://www.kea-bw.de/nachhaltige-mobilitaet/angebote/fuhrparkplattform. If you have any further questions, please contact the charging infrastructure coordinator at the Ludwigsburg district office, Marvin Wachter, on 07141 144-43025 or marvin.wachter[at]landkreis-ludwigsburg.de.

Free energy consultations for companies - until the end of 2025

A strategic examination of their own energy requirements enables companies to save energy or use it more efficiently and thus reduce energy costs. Do you not know what potential there is for this in your company? Then contact the Ludwigsburg District Energy Agency (LEA). They will support you with an introductory energy consultation:

https://www.lea-lb.de/angebote/unternehmen/energieeinstiegsberatung/

Many companies are faced with the question of how to switch from fossil fuels to renewable energies. Especially in the manufacturing industry and in sectors where many processes are based on fossil fuels, it is worth setting the right course at an early stage. The LEA offers support here with an introductory consultation on decarbonization:

https://www.lea-lb.de/einstiegsberatung-dekarbonisierung/

With both advisory services, the current situation is assessed by means of an on-site inspection with LEA experts. On this basis, recommendations for action and concepts are developed and information on funding programs for implementation is provided.

The advisory services are funded by the Ludwigsburg district until the end of 2025. Secure your place now!

Energy Bottwartal: Sustainable energy supply for the region

The town of Großbottwar and Stadtwerke Calw have founded the joint energy company "Energie Bottwartal" to generate and distribute sustainable energy locally. Among other things, the company wants to use commercial roofs in the Bottwartal valley between Beilstein and Marbach to expand photovoltaics. At the same time, it acts as an energy supplier, supplying private and business customers with regionally generated electricity. Since September, the company has also been operating a customer center in Großbottwar. The company's aim is to provide a sustainable, future-oriented energy supply that strengthens regional independence, offers favorable prices and supports local value creation. 25.11., 13.30: Idea circles - innovation processes that really work

From the initial idea to the marketable product - how can this be achieved at a time when innovation, AI and corporate culture are interacting more closely than ever before? The event organized by Wirtschaftsförderung Region Stuttgart GmbH will shed light on the role ideas play in the economic context, how companies can find suitable partners in the ecosystem and how AI can become a driving force in idea and innovation management.

Many innovation processes do not fail due to a lack of methods, but due to the framework conditions: lack of security, lack of motivation, rigid structures.

How do you create real innovations from the interplay of user needs, business factors and tech that are successful as digital products on the market? And how do you establish the necessary culture for this? With 13 years of experience, zigzag shows what really matters when it comes to implementation: from problem identification and cross-functional teams to a courageous culture of psychological safety.

Dennis Knopf, Director Project & Product Management and Dr. Andreas Haas, Strategy Director & Business Development from the global design studio for digital products zigzag show how they create an environment in which teams develop new ideas with joy, courage and energy - with a clear framework from prototype to real user feedback.

Prof. Dr. Katharina Hölzle, Director of IAT at the University of Stuttgart and Managing Director of Fraunhofer IAO, will provide insights into how ideas can be managed, partners can be found in the innovation ecosystem and AI can be used specifically to provide impetus.

You can look forward to exciting impulses, practical insights and the opportunity to discuss exactly this with other participants: How do we make our idea management fit for the future?

Date: 25.11.2025, 13.30-17.00 hrs

Location: zigzag GmbH, Kronprinzstr. 11
