The district of Ludwigsburg has been recognizing exemplary and imaginative actions in the field of nature and environmental protection since 1986. Since the Environmental Prize was awarded in 2000, it has been awarded together with the Environment and Nature Conservation Foundation of the Kreissparkasse Ludwigsburg. After a long interruption, the environmental prize is now being awarded again as part of the KLIMOPASS project for the district of Ludwigsburg.

The aim of the environmental award is to highlight citizens, school groups, kindergarten groups, associations, clubs and other working groups for their commitment to environmental protection and to encourage further commitment. The district of Ludwigsburg and the Environmental and Nature Conservation Foundation of the Kreissparkasse Ludwigsburg would like to make a contribution to a conscious and sustainable environmental policy.
Presentation of the Environmental Award 2025
The Environmental Award 2025 was presented to various environmental protection projects, groups and initiatives as well as committed private individuals on July 22, 2025 in the Louis-Bührer-Saal at Kreissparkasse Ludwigsburg. The prize money totaling 10,000 euros was donated in equal parts by the district of Ludwigsburg and the Foundation for Environmental and Nature Conservation of the Kreissparkasse Ludwigsburg.
