The Building Division is responsible as the Lower Monument Protection Authority for the same towns and municipalities as for building law. The aim of our work is to preserve cultural monuments, but also to meet the requirements of contemporary use. The Building Law Office works hand in hand with the monument conservators at the Stuttgart Regional Council.
The Lower Monument Protection Authority must be involved in good time for all changes to the interior or exterior of a cultural monument.
This also applies to changes to the external appearance of buildings within an "overall complex" (e.g. "Old Town Besigheim" or "Old Town Markgröningen").
Tax relief may be available for measures on a cultural monument or buildings within a complex. You can obtain the necessary tax certificate from the Lower Monument Protection Authority.
