Wine

A jewel on the edge of the Stromberg with the award "Highlight of Wine Culture 2022". The Geigersberg is an exemplary natural and cultural asset with pioneering land reorganization. Walk along the educational wine trail on the Geigersberg a circular route with information boards on nature and wine culture and take advantage of the secluded resting places to linger.

Wunnenstein Wine Experience Trail (Großbottwar, Winzerhausen district)

A leisurely walk with views and insights into the world of viticulture and winemaking. The Wunnenstein Wine Experience Trail features 60 illustrated information boards showing how wine is cultivated and refined into a delicious treat. Enjoy fascinating views from small spots.

Wine and grape variety educational trail (Vaihingen an der Enz, Horrheim district)

On the educational wine trail the various facets of viticulture are clearly explained on 23 panels. Questions about wine-growing areas, cultivation methods, harvesting and much more can be explored on a hike through the idyllic vineyards on the Klosterberg.

Above the nature trail is the Vaihingen educational grape variety trail. Almost 40 different grape varieties have been planted here. Information boards provide information about the origin of the grape variety, the soil required, the ripeness for harvesting and the wine produced from the grape variety.

Educational wine trail (Markgröningen)

On the Markgröningen educational wine trail through the vineyards in St. Johännser in Markgröningen, you will learn a lot of interesting facts about viticulture in general as well as interesting facts about past and present viticulture in Markgröningen.

On the Käsbergkeller Mundelsheim wine experience trail, four hands-on stations are dedicated to the topics "How is a vine built?", "How is juice and wine made from a grape?", "What does the winegrower do in which season?" and "What animals are there in the vineyards?". Anyone who solves at least three games correctly will receive a small reward. Simply take photos of the correct answers on the boards and show them to the Käsbergkeller Mundelsheim during opening hours or tell them the answers.

Forest

Hardy-Pfad - forest adventure trail (Hardtwald forestry association)

On the Hardy Trail, children and adults have the opportunity to get to know the forest and its inhabitants a little better at 16 different stations. The successful combination of knowledge, fun and recreation makes for an exciting and educational experience in the Hardy Forest for the whole family. Educational tree trail (Bietigheim-Bissingen)

The Bietigheim-Bissingen educational tree trail was created by the BUND local group in Bietigheim-Bissingen in cooperation with the municipal gardening department in 1989, revised in 2023 and expanded to include QR codes. The circular trail starts at the train station, runs along the River Enz towards the old town and back again.

The nature experience trail leads through the Zeilwald forest - a commercial forest, recreational area and natural paradise all in one. Further information can be called up at 9 stations via a QR code, and there is also a quiz to test your knowledge. Experience the forest and enjoy the beauty of nature!

Agriculture

Academy Garden (Bietigheim-Bissingen)

A small cottage garden with old vegetable and ornamental plant varieties. The academy garden was created in 1992 in cooperation with the Baden-Württemberg Academy for Nature and Environmental Protection. Here you can admire small vineyard terraces, dry stone walls and many different wild and cultivated plants.

Fruit trail

The Schwieberdingen fruit trail provides information about the Pauls or Pfarrbirne, Schafnase, Sartorlouken, Haferapfel, formerly Büttnerapfel, Weichselkirsche, Völlms gelbe Gartenpflaume - and in 2018 the Rometsch apple was added. An insect hotel provides shelter for wild bees in particular, but also for many other insects such as lacewings, earwigs and ladybugs.

Fruit trail

The Besigheim fruit trail shows the great diversity of native, original fruit varieties. You can experience how many different varieties of apple, pear, cherry and plum grow just a stone's throw from your own home on the fruit nature trail. You can read lots of interesting facts about the fruit varieties and their characteristics on information boards.

Obstwiesenweg (Remseck am Neckar)

With the Remseck orchard trail am Neckar provides information about the cultural landscape of orchards. Information on fruit varieties, their use, fruit tree planting, fruit tree pruning, meadow care and the diversity of species in the meadows can be read on entrance panels, lecterns and information boards. Carved apple steles mark the orchard trail.

Wild fruit nature trail (Ditzingen)

Based on the basic idea of species conservation, the wild fruit nature trailwas created. Here you not only get to know many European wild fruit species, you also learn interesting facts about their benefits for humans and animals.

Insect and biodiversity trail (Bietigheim-Bissingen)

The 4 km long insect and biodiversity trail runs from the Kreuzäcker residential area in Bietigheim across the Enz valley to the green area on the Bissingen tunnel roof. 20 easy-to-understand boards explain the importance of biodiversity and amazing facts about the local insect world.

Waters

Flößerweg (from Besigheim to Bietigheim-Bissingen)

For almost 500 years, rafts on the River Enz were a familiar sight. The 15 km long rafters' trailbetween Besigheim railroad station and the rafting canal in Bissingen explains rafting to cyclists and hikers on 17 boards and presents the remaining rafting relics.

Fish nature trail

The educational fish trail developed and maintained by the Fischerfreunde Bissingen e.V. runs along the flood dam in the Untermberg district and provides information about the fish world in the River Enz.

Geology/Nature

Intercommunal nature trail (Markgröningen - Möglingen - Asperg)

The inter-communal nature and adventure trail runs through part of the Strohgäus. Visitors can expect 18 hand-colored enamel educational panels and two memory game stations with information on ecological, natural history and cultural-historical features of our nature and environment.

Between the Akademiegarten and the viaduct, the BW Environmental Academy reveals the NatureParcoursBietigheim reveals exciting facts about the local flora and fauna at 12 QR code stations.

The attractive green and recreational areas between Bissingen and Bietigheim created for the 1989 State Garden Show have been preserved to this day as a "green center" . What these areas looked like before can be discovered at 16 QR code stations on historical photos on site.

Geological nature trail (Gerlimgen)

All stations of the Geological Nature Trail Gerlingen together provide a comprehensive overview of the landscape and its formation. Each station provides self-contained information about a geological aspect. The nature trail can be experienced in sections/stages: Tonmühle (1), Alte Steige-Schlossberg (2-4), Forchenrain-Seifertstraße-Gerlinger Heide (5-7) and Krummbachtal (8- 10).

Geological nature trail (Bietigheim-Bissingen)

Along the footpath between the old town and the railroad station, along a rock face, runs the Bietigheim-Bissingen Geological Trail with an earth clock. Information boards and rock blocks provide an insight into the geological history of the South German stratigraphic region. The barrier-free path is approx. 130 m long and suitable for children.

Green clasp

The Green Spange is an information and walking trail that leads through the districts of Korntal, Münchingen and Kallenberg, past fields and the edge of the Seewald forest. Several information boards provide exciting background knowledge about nature, the landscape, forest and agriculture.

Mettertal - culture and nature trail

In the Mettertal, the smartphone becomes a tour guide. QR codes at 20 stations along the 3 km long Mettertal nature & culture discovery trail insights into the local cultural landscape. Worksheets on habitats and identifying native species can be downloaded.

Vision (Sachsenheim)

Located in the middle of the vineyards, the Weitblickweg Hohenhaslach is an adventure trail and wonderfully combines a contemplation trail with an art trail. The motto "look further, live better" is an invitation to experience this path. The concept and the six works of art were designed by artist Martin Burchard.

Sachsenheim Planet Trail (Sachsenheim)

Experience on foot or by bike on the Sachsenheim Planet Trail the true-to-scale model of our solar system. Reduced to a scale of 1:333 million, the sun with its planetary system fits exactly into the town's boundaries and connects all six districts.

Length: 29 km; duration of experience: 3-4 hours.
