With this surcharge project, the project partners would like to provide special support for the work on the orchard meadows and the effort involved in manual orchard harvesting. The work contributes to the preservation of the valuable cultural landscape, which is also a habitat for a large number of animal and plant species, including endangered and rare species such as the little owl, ant blue and dormouse. In return, the LEV contributes 8 euros per quintal to the cider fruit price, so that a total of 23 euros per quintal can be paid out.
Orchard apples must be healthy, ripe, without rot and hand-picked
A total of 3000 kilograms of orchard apples are required for cider production. And these are the quality requirements: healthy, ripe, without rot and hand-picked. The late, well-ripened varieties are particularly suitable for cider production. The fruit collection will take place on October 11, 2025 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the OGV training garden of the OGV Sachsenheim (corner Grundweg/Bachwiesenweg).
Interested parties should register by October 8, 2025 by e-mail to ObstGartenBeratung[at]landkreis-ludwigsburg.de stating your name, location, telephone number and estimated delivery quantity. Small quantities can also be delivered.
Contact and further information on the project can be obtained from the Fruit and Horticulture Advisory Service, Agriculture Department, Ludwigsburg District Office, https://ludwigsburg.landwirtschaft-bw.de.
