Animal identification and registration

In the district of Ludwigsburg

The following animal holdings must be reported to the District Office, Veterinary and Food Inspection Department, using the adjacent forms:

Land animals:
Cattle, pigs (including wild boar), sheep, goats, solipeds, chickens, ducks, geese, pheasants, guinea fowl, partridges, pigeons, turkeys, quails and ratites, game birds, camelids, other cloven-hoofed animals, bees (Article 93 Regulation 2016/429 (AHL))

Aquatic animals:
Fish, crustaceans, molluscs e.g. mussels (Article 173 / 181 Regulation EU 216/429 (AHL))

Notification is required so that the district authority can quickly and effectively initiate and monitor the necessary control measures in the event of an epidemic. As the notification of animal husbandry is in the public interest, it is free of charge. No further legal checks are associated with the notification. Please also note the nature conservation regulations, building regulations and agricultural regulations.

The animal species for which contributions are levied by the Animal Disease Fund can be found on the homepage of the Animal Disease Fund.

Please note that if you market animal products as food (e.g. honey, eggs, meat), you are subject to food control and therefore generally have to register as a food business operator.

Forgotten PIN

If you have forgotten your PIN for the HI-Tier IT system or have never had one before, you can apply for a new one here. A valid registration as a livestock owner is a prerequisite for access to HI-Tier.
