It has long been normal for farms to have several mainstays. But when do additional mainstays make economic sense, especially with regard to the production factors of labor and capital? Lea Appenzeller addresses this question in her article "Diversification in agriculture - using alternative sources of income" using the example of vacation apartments. She is a consultant for diversification and household economics at the State Institute for Agriculture, Food and Rural Areas (LEL) in Schwäbisch Gmünd.
Mr. Clemens Luber will then present the topic of "farm education". He will report on how he implements his concept with school classes and kindergarten groups, as well as seasonal groups on the organic farm, and what needs to be considered.
As always, there will then be time for discussion and exchange.
The practitioners' regulars' table will take place on March 12, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. in the Krone Alt-Hoheneck restaurant (Am Neckar 19, 71642 Ludwigsburg). Please register by email to bmr[at]landkreis-ludwigsburg.de.
