Climate scouts start new project phase with workshop

The municipal climate scouts officially started their work for the year 2025/2026 with a three-day workshop at the Ludwigsburg District Energy Agency (LEA). This year's team, consisting of Yakup Tak, Emily Pfeil, Katarina Bader, Leonie Schollenberger and Nele Lauber, recently met to acquire in-depth/diverse knowledge on the topic of climate protection and to develop initial ideas for future climate projects.

Die Hände einer Person halten eine junge Pflanze, die aus dunklem Boden sprießt. Die Blätter sind grün und frisch. Die Szene vermittelt ein Gefühl von Pflege und Wachstum.

Since 2021, municipal trainees in the district of Ludwigsburg have been trained in climate protection in the workplace with the "Municipal climate scouts - trainees for more climate protection" project.

The LEA is a key partner of the climate scouts, as it provides both specialist knowledge and creative impetus for planning climate protection initiatives. After being welcomed by Anja Noël and Janna Wieder from the "Education for Sustainable Development" team, the participants had the opportunity to get to know each other and put their previous knowledge to the test in a quiz. During the course of the day, there was also room for a lively exchange about the newly acquired knowledge.

Special guests at the first workshop day were Jennifer Häusler from the climate protection department of the Ludwigsburg district office and climate protection manager Alexander Greschnik from the town of Asperg. They shared their experiences and insights into the practice of municipal climate protection and gave the climate scouts valuable food for thought for their own projects.

Focus on positive climate news and project planning

On the second day, the topics of project planning and climate communication were on the agenda. Marie Joram and Johanna Fuoß from the LEA taught the participants how to successfully implement a climate protection project and how to communicate properly with the public. The knowledge was then applied in a group presentation in which a climate object - such as a bus ticket - was creatively presented.

The third and final day of the workshop was all about planning specific projects. Each participant researched a positive climate message, which was then displayed in the LEA's "Wall of Hope" - a space for inspiring and hopeful messages about climate protection. In small groups, the climate scouts collected ideas for their own projects and presented them to Anja and Janna in the afternoon. The workshop came to a successful conclusion with valuable feedback and tips for the next steps.

What's behind the Climate Scouts project

Since 2021, municipal trainees in the district of Ludwigsburg have been trained in climate protection in the workplace with the project "Municipal Climate Scouts - Trainees for more climate protection".

The project is carried out in cooperation with Energieagentur Kreis Ludwigsburg (LEA) e. V. The participating trainees learn the basics of climate change and municipal climate protection as well as project management and communication. They then carry out their own projects. The teams from the district administration office were each supported by mentors from the training department.
