The 26th Spätlingsmarkt starts on November 6: the district administration office is transformed into a colorful market house

Many people have had the date marked in their diaries for a long time: on November 6, the Ludwigsburg District Office will once again open its doors as part of the Latecomers' Market. Culinary specialties and handicrafts will be on offer on all nine levels of the district building (Hindenburgstrasse 40), in the atrium of the first extension building (Hindenburgstrasse 30) and open air in Eugenstrasse (between the district building and the first extension building). Regional products from the Ludwigsburg district as well as from the partner and friend districts of Saxony, Hungary, France and Italy will spoil you with numerous delicacies.

A speaker addresses an audience at an indoor event, surrounded by tables showcasing colorful local produce and products. Attendees, including men and women of various ages, are engaged and listening attentively. The atmosphere is festive, indicating a community gathering or celebration.

District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier will officially open the Spätlingsmarkt on Monday, November 6.

In 2023, the Spätlingsmarkt will once again enter a new round with a great program of culinary specialties from the district and partner districts. District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier will officially open the market on Monday, November 6, at 6.30 pm. "For many people from near and far, the Spätlingsmarkt is a firm fixture on the fall calendar. Not only does it have a long tradition, but over the years it has also established itself as an important platform for culinary specialties and handicrafts," says District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier.

However, the Israeli partner district of Upper Galilee is unable to participate this year due to the brutal attack on Israel by Hamas. "The Spätlingsmarkt is actually one of the many encounters we have had with our Israeli friends for many years. We miss their participation very much," says Dietmar Allgaier and assures his friends in Israel of his solidarity.

As usual, the partner districts from Saxony, Hungary, France and Italy will be taking part in the Spätlingsmarkt. All those involved have once again prepared themselves well and will be treating visitors to the finest food and drink. There will be Italian, French and Hungarian salami specialties, ham and cheese from the partner counties, as well as unusual products such as olive oil, nougat and sea buckthorn. A colorful variety from honey to lavender, Baumkuchen and Stollen and, of course, traditional handicraft products. These specialties are framed by regional Swabian products from farmers, bakers and confectioners, butchers, millers, winegrowers, gardeners, beekeepers and artisans. This year, a total of 75 stall holders will be exhibiting their wares at the Spätlingsmarkt.

The blue and yellow colors of Ukraine can also be found at the Spätlingsmarkt. Amidst the colourful offerings from local businesses and the district's partner regions, the Gustaf-Adolf-Werk e.V. will once again have an information stand about the organization, content and recipients of donations of money and goods to Ukraine. Pastor Ulrich Hirsch will say a daily prayer for peace at 5 p.m.

Theme and family days: varied program at the 26th Spätlingsmarkt

An exhibition on the subject of respect by the Sicherer Landkreis Ludwigsburg e.V. association will be held in the district hall during the Spätlingsmarkt. 24 pictures on the topic as well as a film about the exhibition can be seen in the new rooms on level 2, next to the first-aid room and the district media center.

The offerings at the Spätlingsmarkt will be accompanied by a varied program. The Landscape Conservation Association has organized the theme day "Indispensable Diversity: Insects and Agriculture" on Tuesday, 7 November from 2.15 p.m. in the large conference room with a top-class line-up of speakers, a stirring film and a subsequent panel discussion. Anyone interested is cordially invited to attend.

Wednesday, November 8, is all about the family: the stand operators have numerous offers for children and interested adults. On this day, visitors can also use the climate-friendly and free shuttle service with a horse-drawn carriage from Ludwigsburg train station to the Ludwigsburg District Office. On Thursday and Friday, November 9 and 10, three rickshaws will travel from the train station via Wilhelmstraße to the Spätlingsmarkt and back again. Transportation is free of charge.

The qualified beer sommelier Clemens Thysing will lead a special kind of beer tasting on Wednesday, November 8. Beers from the partner districts will be put through their paces. Those who attend the beer tasting will learn more about the differences in beer production and the customs of beer drinkers in the partner districts.

With fruit from regional orchards: Award ceremony for the best brandies

On Thursday, November 9, the certificates for the best brandies in the district will be handed out at 5 p.m. in the Atrium Neubau. The stand operators will hand over their donation to the Gemeinsam e.V. association. In addition, young winegrowers will delight visitors with their wine and sparkling wine specialties from the district that evening. From 6 pm, the Afterwork Party in the atrium of the new building (Hindenburgstraße 30) with DJ Luca invites you to celebrate.

On Friday, 10 November, the traditional wine tasting will once again take place in the large meeting room with selected wines from young winegrowers from Hohenhaslach and Hungarian culinary specialties. Cabaret artist Bernd Kohlhepp will provide entertainment with his program "Hämmerle kommt".
