Traffic opening for the K1669: First state official and head of traffic department Vogt: "An important link between Affalterbach and Remseck is once again safe for traffic"

The K1669 between Affalterbach and Remseck-Hochdorf was officially reopened to traffic on Monday (November 10, 2025) after the final construction section between the access road to Siegelhausen and Remseck-Hochdorf was completed. The entire stretch has been widened to six meters and completely rebuilt over the past year and a half. The road builders from the district administration office have also defused the sharp bends and crests on the route.

"The road has now finally been renovated and an important link between Affalterbach and Remseck is once again safe for traffic," said a delighted First State Official Jürgen Vogt, who is also Head of Traffic at the District Office, at the opening to traffic.

Construction work was carried out in three phases: firstly, asphalt layers were removed from Affalterbacher Straße in Hochdorf and completely relaid, and extensive renovation work was carried out on the supply lines for the town of Remseck and its municipal utilities. In the second construction phase, the open stretch between the end of Affalterbach and the Siegelhausen junction, crests and bends were removed and the drainage optimized. The existing road was removed and completely rebuilt with a width of 6 meters and a compliant structure. At the same time, the municipality of Affalterbach renovated the through road. In the third construction phase, the same work was carried out on the open stretch between the Siegelhausen junction and the entrance to Remseck-Hochdorf as in the second construction phase. In addition, the "Hochdorf Wendeplatte" bus stop was made barrier-free on behalf of the town of Remseck.

The budget of 4.5 million euros approved by the district council for the overall project, including planning, preliminary investigation, crash barriers, disposal and signage, was adhered to.
