The crisis team includes representatives from the fire department, the health department, civil protection, hospitals and the police. They used to meet once a week, but now they will meet every day again - with the aim of minimizing the impact of the fifth corona wave in the district.
The working group, led by District Fire Chief Andy Dorroch, is to develop a step-by-step plan for the critical infrastructure. This plan defines how employees from the health department, social services, civil protection and the district administration will be deployed. The aim is to always set up two teams that can replace each other if necessary.
The district administrator is also in regular contact with the mayors of the 39 towns and municipalities affiliated with the Ludwigsburg district. In the regular video calls, the individual upcoming measures are coordinated and discussed in advance, such as the issuing of general decrees, control measures or the upcoming testing of children in childcare facilities.
The 3G rule has been in force at the district office and its branch offices for weeks. Appointments are only possible by prior arrangement. Almost all employees without customer contact are working from home.
The Ludwigsburg-Bietigheim clinics, which are run by the district, are also prepared for Omikron: All employees must undergo daily testing; in addition, replacement teams are being set up and other employees have been trained to work in coronavirus areas. If the coronavirus situation comes to a head, the clinics will have to reduce their program to emergency care.
