Participants can expect a varied and high-calibre technical program. With Professor Dr. Michael Weiß, Head of the Steinbeis Innovation Centre for Organismic Mycology and Microbiology in Tübingen, as well as Dr. Janet Maringer and Christoph Schulz from the AG Wurzel of the Deutscher Pomologenverein e. V., proven experts have been recruited as speakers. They will provide practical insights and valuable impulses for all those who cultivate and maintain orchards.
First-hand expertise: innovative fertilization and climate-resilient orchards
Professor Weiß has been working for several years on the production of effective dry fertilizers through fermentation and biomass from the cultivated landscape. In Hemmingen, he will present the Kastanienhof project, in which biochar-based fertilizer from the orchard is produced for the orchard. In the second part of the conference, Dr. Janet Maringer and Christoph Schulz will report on the results of their research into climate-resilient orchards and discuss the importance of the rootstock for the orchard tree of the future.
