Luca app now connected to the public health department - District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier: Another step towards getting out of the coronavirus crisis

Contact details from the Luca app have been able to be sent to the district council's health department since May 3. "This makes it possible to seamlessly trace the chains of infection and prevent the virus from spreading further by taking appropriate measures. The Luca app is another step for us to get out of the corona crisis," says District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier.

A smartphone screen displays the word "luca" in an elegant, stylized font against a light gray background. The phone is shown at an angle, highlighting its sleek design.

The public health department now has the option of obtaining the data of contact persons via the operators, for example companies or restaurants. To do this, the infected person must inform the public health department that they have entered their contact details with an operator in the Luca app during their infectious period. The infected person transmits a twelve-digit code to the public health department. This must be entered into the Luca app by the health authority within one hour. The health authority can then see which operator the infected person has entered their data with. The operator is then requested by the public health department to release the contact details. After approval by the operator, the contact details are digitally available to the public health department.

The data is secured and encrypted in the Luca app. They can only be decrypted using the twelve-digit code of the infected person. In this way, chains of infection can be traced securely, quickly and seamlessly.

For operators and guests, all information about the Luca app can be found on the company website https://www.luca-app.de/.
