Lia Ternes studied forestry at the Rottenburg University of Applied Sciences (Bachelor of Science). She gained practical professional experience through internships at the lower forestry authority of the Zollernalb district and during an internship at the lower forestry authority of the Enzkreis district. Before joining the Forestry Department of the Ludwigsburg District Office, she worked at the Rhineland-Palatinate Research Institute for Forest Ecology and Forestry (FAWF) and the Rheinauen Forestry Office of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Forestry Department. She gained additional qualifications in the fields of fisheries and species and biotope protection, among others.
In addition to maintaining and managing the forest, Ternes' tasks will also include forest education events for school classes. "For me, the forest is the most beautiful and varied place to work. The mixture of nature, responsibility and contact with people has inspired me from an early age. The diverse tasks in and with nature make for a multifaceted working day," says the new forest district manager.
The forestry department of the district administration looks after a total of ten districts. The Bietigheim district includes the municipal forests of Bietigheim-Bissingen, Ludwigsburg, Markgröningen, Schwieberdingen, Kornwestheim, Oberriexingen, Remseck, Tamm, Asperg and Affalterbach.
