All of the district administration's computers were checked over the weekend by around 50 IT staff, including IT employees from the district administration office and the IT service provider PiraCon, with the support of Komm.ONE, AVL, the RKH clinics, Stadtwerke Ludwigsburg-Kornwestheim GmbH and the city of Ludwigsburg. According to the initial analysis results, operations can restart, but no further details can be released at this time due to the police investigation. The analysis of the security incident is still ongoing and final results are not expected until next week at the earliest.
The joint and decisive action of all parties involved - the Ludwigsburg District Office, the Baden-Württemberg Cybersecurity Agency, Komm.ONE and the Baden-Württemberg State Office of Criminal Investigation - has resulted in the best possible protection of the data infrastructure being restored as quickly as possible. The expectation that only individual computers and not the entire network were affected was confirmed.
District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier: "We are relieved that we were able to avert major damage to our IT infrastructure. Now it is important to provide all services for our citizens again as quickly as possible."
E-mails received by the district administration office during the downtime have not been lost and will be processed once the systems are up and running again. We would like to point out that there may be delays in processing emails. The district administration office can still be reached by telephone during normal office hours. Similar services of the other departments can still be offered, such as job interviews, naturalization interviews, meetings with the youth welfare office, conferences at the district office and meetings with the debt counselling service. The district administration office will provide information on Monday on the homepage of the district website about the services that can be offered again from Tuesday.
