District Administrator Allgaier opens 28th Spätlingsmarkt: "Those who shop here are making a conscious decision for regionality"

With the aroma of fresh bread, herbs, the finest food and regional specialties, the 28th Late Harvest Market of the Ludwigsburg district opened its doors on Monday, November 3, 2025. For four days, the district hall, the first extension building and the atrium will once again be transformed into a lively marketplace where producers, artisans and initiatives from the region will present their work.

District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier welcomed guests from near and far to the 28th Late Harvest Market (Ludwigsburg District Office).

"The Spätlingsmarkt is more than just a market - it is a symbol of living partnership across borders," said District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier at the opening of this year's market. Visitors can expect a diverse range of regional foods, handicrafts and international specialties. The District Administrator particularly emphasized the importance of sustainability and regionality: "Those who shop here are making a conscious decision for regionality and sustainability - and are thus actively helping to ensure that the added value remains in our home region."

With 15 new stand operators, the Spätlingsmarkt will once again showcase its diversity this year: from handmade products and Swabian specialties to international delicacies and handicrafts from Israel, France and Italy. The market is accompanied by an extensive program: from the KLIMAfit award to children's activities and lectures on nature and climate protection to wine tastings and young winemaker parties. "I'm delighted that our district hall has once again been transformed into a fragrant, resounding and smiling market", says District Administrator Allgaier.

The market is open until 10 p.m. on Thursday

The market can be visited on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 11 am to 8 pm. On Thursday it is open from 11 am to 10 pm and on Saturday, the closing day, from 9 am to 2 pm.

Visitors are requested to use public transport to get to the Kreishaus. The Kreishaus at Hindenburgstraße 40 can be reached by bus lines 421 and 533 (bus stop: Landratsamt) - from Wednesday, November 5, to Friday, November 7, there will also be three rickshaws running from the Ludwigsburg central bus station to the Kreishaus and back during the opening hours of the market.

In cooperation with the Association of Bicycle and Pedestrian Friendly Communities (AGFK), the district will provide 120 additional bicycle parking spaces in Eugenstraße for visitors to the Spätlingsmarkt who come by bicycle.
