The aim of the day of action as part of the cancer prevention weeks of the district health department is to educate people about the health consequences of smoking and to show ways of prevention - for both young people and adults.
Dealing with health risks and new forms of consumption
The walk-in lung model, which is over five meters long, can be viewed from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. under medical supervision. The anatomical structure of the trachea, bronchi, alveoli and diseases such as asthma, tuberculosis, pneumonia, emphysema and lung cancer can be seen as you walk through the lungs. In hands-on formats, visitors can find out about the health risks of smoking and new forms of consumption such as e-cigarettes, shishas and nicotine pouches, take lung function tests and obtain information on lung cancer and smoking cessation. Until 3 p.m., the model is mainly reserved for pupils of the Berufliches Schulzentrum (BSZ) Bietigheim-Bissingen. External groups can register from 3 pm. Individuals do not need to register. The offers are free of charge.
