Israeli delegation from the partner district of the Upper Galilee visits the district

An Israeli delegation from the partner district of Upper Galilee is visiting the district of Ludwigsburg this week. District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier welcomed the guests on Monday and said: "I am delighted to be able to welcome our Israeli friends for the second time since I took office. This is very important for all of us, even though we have kept in close contact during the pandemic. I would like to extend a warm welcome to our Israeli friends and look forward to our week together!" The four-person delegation, headed by Chairman Giora Salz, signed the district's guest book. Salz then gave a speech at the meeting of the Culture, Education and Europe Committee.

A group of five individuals is standing together in a formal setting. They are wearing masks and appear to be engaging in a public announcement. A podium is positioned in front of them, with flags visible in the background.

In his speech, which was received with much applause, Salz spoke about the links that have existed for over 30 years and the partnership between the Ludwigsburg district and the Upper Galilee region, which was officially concluded in 1997. He emphasized that a lively dialogue has developed through contacts between schools, teachers, orchestras and clinics. He thanked the people in the Ludwigsburg district and the Upper Galilee for their commitment and the discussions. "These encounters influence the lives of the successors," Salz noted. He also thanked those who started and developed the partnership between the Upper Galilee and Ludwigsburg. "In view of the fact that every human being has abysses within them, we know what is expected of us as human beings: that we stand up for humanity and human rights." Finally, Salz Allgaier handed over an invitation for a return visit to Israel next year.

District Administrator Allgaier expressed his sincere thanks for the invitation and reiterated the words of his counterpart Salz: "We must not forget the Holocaust, but must all work for the future: Young people from both countries making music, laughing, eating and talking together is the best way to understand, trust and appreciate each other. I look forward to the projects we will implement together."

The Israeli delegation's program includes a visit to the extended Educational and Cultural Centre (PKC) Former Freudental Synagogue and the Steinheim Museum of Prehistoric Man as well as the preparation of existing and new school partnerships.
