Background to the child protection quality mark:
Child and youth work organizations that have signed the declaration on child protection have been awarded the district's child protection quality mark since 2015. In 2024, a total of 87 associations received the award.
At the heart of the developed concept is the idea of prevention - a holistic approach that goes far beyond mere formalities and focuses on the responsibility of organizations in child and youth work. The signed declaration of commitment sends a clear signal for the protection and empowerment of children and young people in a respectful and safe environment.
It includes key principles: the promotion of positive living conditions and the self-determined development of young people, the attentive and respectful treatment of their personality and dignity, the consistent sensitization of all those involved and the early involvement of specialist agencies in the event of possible dangers. It is also committed to taking an active stance against all forms of violence, discrimination, racism and sexism.
