First state official Vogt welcomes participants of the youth nature conservation camp to the district hall: "A prime example of cooperation between municipal levels across borders"

Hungarian participants in the youth nature conservation camp in the Ludwigsburg district and their supervisors were welcomed by First State Official Jürgen Vogt on Thursday (August 1) at the Ludwigsburg district hall. This is already the 25th edition of the youth nature conservation camp.

A diverse group of around 30 people gathers outdoors, some holding flags of Germany and Hungary. They smile and pose together in front of a building with large windows, conveying a sense of community and camaraderie.

The first state official introduced the district of Ludwigsburg and reported on the partnership between Pest County and the district of Ludwigsburg. This has existed since 1992 and the joint nature conservation initiative Tápió Environmental Foundation was founded in 1997. "The Tápió nature conservation project in Pest County is a prime example of constructive cooperation between local authorities across borders," said Vogt. The ecologically valuable Tápió area in Hungary is to be preserved as part of the partnership through a joint nature conservation initiative. Since the beginning of the relationship, a successful series of specialist seminars and projects on social and environmental issues can be looked back on.

Hungarian youngsters get to know the landscape and culture

The youth nature conservation camp is taking place for the 25th time this year. It is organized every year by the district of Ludwigsburg together with the partner region of Pest County. Last year, pupils from the Ludwigsburg district were able to visit the Tápió region in Hungary. This year, in return, young Hungarians are visiting the district of Ludwigsburg and getting to know the landscape and culture.

The varied program includes a visit to the source of the Danube in Donaueschingen, a visit to Ludwigsburg Castle and various landscape conservation activities in the district of Ludwigsburg.

At the end of his welcoming address, First State Official Vogt announced that last year's donations from families of former camp participants will provide a sum of around 1,200 euros, which will be transferred to the camp leaders to reduce the personal contributions that the young people have to make.
