DoblerGreen Hotel in Gerlingen to be used as temporary accommodation for refugees for another year

The number of refugees arriving in the district is still at a high level. Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, 8,025 Ukrainian refugees have already been registered in the district of Ludwigsburg, including a total of 928 people in 2023. In addition, the district has already accommodated a further 860 refugees from so-called third countries in its accommodation this year. "We therefore welcome the fact that we can use the DoblerGreen Hotel in Gerlingen for another year for the temporary accommodation of refugees and would also like to thank the city of Gerlingen for its support," says District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier.

The influx of refugees from Ukraine has remained relatively constant for months, albeit at a high level. The number of asylum seekers has been rising for several months and the district expects the number to continue to rise in the coming months.

The premises in the Dobler Green Hotel can be used for another year and will therefore also be used for other refugee groups in the future. The hotel can accommodate up to 160 refugees. A social worker from the district is available to support the refugees.

The district will use this time to further increase its accommodation capacity. Construction work has begun on new accommodation in Erdmannhausen and should be completed by spring 2024. In addition, mobile housing units are currently being prepared for accommodation on Römerhügelweg in Ludwigsburg and another shared accommodation facility will be built in Eberdingen-Hochdorf.
