Educational partnership sealed between the Robert-Franck-Schule and the Blankenstein-Gemeinschaftsschule (BSG)

"We want our pupils to take on responsibility in our society and we accompany and support them on this path in the best possible way," explains Jasmin Meister - Headmistress of Blankenstein-Gemeinschaftsschule (BSG) in Steinheim. The school therefore also offers a wide range of orientation opportunities in a variety of professional fields. It is particularly pleasing that the BSG's existing educational partnerships with companies in the area will now be even more broadly based thanks to the cooperation with the Robert-Franck-Schule in Ludwigsburg, particularly in the area of education-related follow-up opportunities.

A group of nine individuals, some wearing masks, stands behind two seated people at a table. The seated individuals are engaged in signing documents. The setting appears to be a formal meeting, likely related to an agreement or partnership.

The two principals, Yasmin Meister and Wolfgang Ulshöfer, signed the contract.

The cooperation between the two schools was already put into practice last school year. Christine Stiehl, the responsible colleague at the Robert-Franck-Schule, introduced the tenth graders at the BSG to their school's options. These are varied: in addition to a three-year business grammar school, pupils have the opportunity to apply to the vocational school for business or attend the commercial vocational school. In addition, the AVdual offers intensively supervised dual training preparation. Four years ago, the Robert-Franck-Schule was the pilot school for this course in the Ludwigsburg district. "We therefore got to grips with the pedagogy of the community school at an early stage and offered level-differentiated learning," says Headmaster Wolfgang Ulshöfer. "It is also important to us that the pupils at Blankensteinschule are not only well informed about the various educational pathways, but that they can also experience our educational offerings through work shadowing directly on site," emphasizes Ulshöfer.

Despite the pandemic-related restrictions, the first offers were already very well received by the young people at Blankenstein School last school year and were seen as a great enrichment in the decision-making process.

During the official signing of the contract, the principals of both schools, Wolfgang Ulshöfer and Yasmin Meister, were not the only ones present. The scope of this cooperation was made clear by the presence of Andreas Eschbach (Head of Department at the LB District Office), Judith Wörner (Head of the School Division at the LB District Office), Ralf Litschke (Head of the Vocational Qualification Department at the LB Chamber of Industry and Commerce), Markus Klein (Ludwigsburg State Education Authority) and Ramona Senghaas (Head of the Steinheim Municipal Office).

All those involved agreed on how important it is for today's young people to find the right information for their own needs from the wide range of information on career orientation. The cooperation between the two schools is an important building block for this. The common goal is to use low-threshold offers to break down fears and inhibitions and to give the graduating students inspiration for their future careers.
