Inaugural visit: District Councillor Dietmar Allgaier receives the new Swiss Consul General Istvan Kocsis

District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier recently welcomed the new Swiss Consul General in Stuttgart, Istvan Kocsis, to his office. The head of the district administration said: "I am looking forward to our future cooperation. There has always been a close and trusting relationship between Switzerland and the district of Ludwigsburg: the Swiss Consulate General was based in Markgröningen for a while and many of the 33,000 Swiss nationals living in Baden-Württemberg live in the district."

Before Istvan Kocsis came to Stuttgart, he was posted in Shanghai. The Consul General primarily looks after the interests of Swiss citizens in Baden-Württemberg. His duties include consular services such as issuing identity documents, registering and deregistering as well as changes in civil status. He is also involved in the promotion of diverse economic, cultural and political relations.
