Educational Cooking with Children

Eating is fun! How can children explore food with all their senses and develop a mindful, enjoyable approach to eating? In this training session offered by the Middle Neckar Nutrition Center, educators and home economics specialists will learn how to practically integrate nutrition education and cooking together into the daily routine at daycare centers.

Educational Cooking with Children

The theoretical portion covers nutritional recommendations for children of various age groups, as well as suggestions for planning and conducting educational cooking activities.

The practical portion, held in the teaching kitchen, focuses on hygiene, workplace safety, various cutting techniques, and providing age-appropriate guidance to children. Participants will work together to prepare simple, child-friendly dishes such as snacks, spreads, and desserts. A recipe collection will enable participants to implement these ideas directly at their daycare center afterward.

Cost: 15 euros for food and supplies, payable in cash on site

Please bring: an apron, a dish towel, and a container for leftovers.
